Christmas in PA

"Syd" and "Alex" drawings from Aunt Vicki.

Painting at the Pittsburgh Children's Museum.

Trying to keep dry.

Obviously not successfully.

Cars, cars, cars!!

No explanation needed :-)

The kids with their great-great aunt Katie.

Syd with her great-great pappy and great-great uncle Hi.
Four generations on my mom's side, minus a sleeping Alex.

Mom and pappy.

Aunt Vicki, pappy and mom.

Me and pappy.

Elf-ventures

We had a new honorary member of the family join us on
St. Nicholas Day this year.

His name is Candy Cane.

See him in the back round?

At first, he was rather boring.  Sitting in the tree or hiding in the curtains.

Then one morning, Candy Cane was playing solitaire...

The next, hanging from the ceiling fan...

Then playing the recorder (kinda happy about that one :-)
During which he promptly flipped backward off the piano.
After much debating, Syd and I decided to pick him up with tongs
(if you touch him, the magic goes away ya know!)

Syd wrote him a note apologizing but we were worried Alex would  not keep his hands off!

The next morning, CC left a note on the fridge :-)

Today, he was in my jewelry box wearing Christmas earrings everywhere.

I wonder where he'll be in the morning??

2 years...

Two years ago today, I was doing some Christmas shopping and my cell phone rang.  My phone NEVER rings so I didn't even notice it until it was too late.  I looked at the number that called and knew immediately that it was "the call"!

There was a file of a 9 month old baby boy with club foot for us to review.  Exactly 3 months to the day from that call, we were holding that same wonderful little boy in our arms.

We love you, little man.
