Moving Along

Alex got his third set of casts yesterday and they say his feet are improving in flexibility quicker than they expected.  Good news!  He does not like getting the casts on but after a good long nap, he zooms around as usual.  I think if he didn't have the casts on he'd be walking by now.  He must really like the blue casts because he seems to be fascinated with them and has been in a fantastic mood!

Syd's school had a fundraiser, Run With Timber (school mascot) and she was pretty pooped by the end.  Thirteen laps around the field which is about 1 1/2 miles.  Alex had fun watching though.
 Blowing a kiss!

I'm going to miss those adorable feet...

I'm going to miss the way he claps them together when he's excited, the way he sucks on his toes when he's content, the way he zooms across the floor with he feet spinning like a paddle boat, when he kicks his little curled feet in excitement when I pick him up.
I won't miss putting his pants and socks on (harder than it looks!) or when his feet curl in when I'm changing his diaper and I won't share details about that!
I'm going to be so thrilled to finally see him walking on two straight, beautiful, strong feet!  I can't wait to see him run to keep up with his sister, shoot baskets in the driveway, run through a playground, ride a bike and to buy some super cute little shoes for him!

Best daughter around!

A couple of days ago I was having an oh crap, how am I going to be able to do this mom to 2 kids kind of day.  Overwhelmed, tired, cranky and just wanted to stay in bed for 24 hours.  Instead, the next morning my daughter reminded me that YES, I can be a mom to 2 with a little help.  I was showering and Alex was hanging in the bathroom dumping things in the tub.  Afterwards, I came downstairs to a complete breakfast for myself, Syd and Alex.  Syd toasted, buttered, got drinks ready and everything to the table before my feet stepped of the last stair!  I love that kid!!!
Alex's first bike ride, gotta love that helmet!

He's standing all the time and trying his hardest to walk.

Loves to throw the ball!

Happy Easter!

Of course the one day that we know Syd will wake up early, Alex sleeps until after 7:00 for the first time.  Go figure.  Syd had a fun Easter and Alex was pretty much not impressed, but what 1 year old is?  The weather was beautiful today so we got to shoot hoops with Syd's new basketball.
We had fun decorating eggs except to get the "marble effect", we had to use oil and boy was that a mess!  Syd got the real eggs and Alex got plastic eggs filled with goldfish.  Once he figured out there was something in the eggs, he started chasing them down.
