07-02-12_Free-day_Summer-Palace

Our first day here was a free day so we ventured out on our own. 

We attempted to find the subway to take to the Summer Palace.  We walked for a few blocks and could not find it so we walked back to the hotel and caught a cab.  The ride there was fine, the ride back was typically scary! 

The Summer Palace was beautiful and much bigger that we expected.  There were small buildings everywhere with paths leading every which way.  There were people playing music in a pavilion and others were gathered around singing along.  It was nice.
